Kia India is set to launch its flagship electric car, the Kia EV9 in India on October 3, 2024. The all-electric SUV is based on the brand's born-electric E-GMP platform which its sister company also utilizes for the Ioniq 5. Kia EV9 Powertrain
The Kia EV9 will be available in a single fully loaded variant which gets a 99.8 kWh battery pack, mated to a dual motor setup (one on each axle). With this setup, it will generate 384 PS of power and 700 Nm of torque. The provided battery pack manages to provide a driving range of 500 km on a single charge. The dual motor setup means that the E-SUV will have an AWD system. The Kia EV9 will support 350 kW DC charging capability which will charge the EV from 10 to 80 per cent in less than 25 minutes. Additionally, the EV will have V2L (Vehicle to load) functionality, allowing the users to use their battery pack to power other external devices.
Kia EV9 Interiors and Features
Interior-wise, the Kia EV9 is towards the classy side a bit. It boasts a sleek and simple-looking dashboard and dual-tone black leather seat upholstery. On the feature front, it is undoubtedly high on tech with features such as a triple screen setup which includes a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, a 12.3-inch digital driver's display and a 5.3-inch climate control display. The climate control displays unite both the infotainment screen and the driver's display.
Also, there are hidden touch controls for functions such as start/stop, climate control media settings and ventilation systems. Other convenience features on offer with the E-SUV include sunroof, digital IRVMs, 8 way power adjustment and massage function for the second row.
