Lexus India has initiated a recall for its popular models sold between 2022-23 in India. These models include Lexus LS 500, LS 500h, RX, and NX. The recall seems to have arisen due to a faulty camera case installed on these vehicles. Although, none of the affected units have reported any issues till now. Lexus Recall In India: What Exactly Happened?
As reported by the company, this recall is due to a faulty camera case made by the vendor for a specific batch. These Lexus models come equipped with front & rear cameras. These cameras process images for safer parking and easy maneuver through tight spaces. However, the casing of these cameras is made by a trusted vendor of Lexus. But, a specific batch consisting of a total of 113 units, has undergone testing failure. As per Lexus, this casing can develop cracks over time, further leading to water inlet, fogging, and other issues to the cameras.
Interestingly, none of the customers have reported any issues with their cars. This recall can be considered as a proactive approach to eliminate the possibility of failures. Lexus is known to offer the best & reliable products. Therefore, the recall has been initiated.
