As we all know that the Mahindra Thar, one of the most popular SUVs in the Indian market, will get a tarmac-oriented 4X2 RWD version soon. The detailed images and videos of the four-wheeler are already out and it will most likely be launched on the 9th of January. Along with this, 91Wheels exclusively reported that the Thar 4X2 RWD will get a new Blazing Bronze paint scheme. Mahindra Thar 4X2 RWD: Equipment On Offer
As per the latest leaks, the Mahindra Thar 4X2 RWD will retain the familiar set of 18-inch alloy wheels shod with all-terrain tyres. The SUV will get black bumpers, similar to the updated Thar 4X4 along with moulded footsteps on both sides. In terms of features, the SUV will get ESP, cruise control, electric ORVMs, fog lamps, a touchscreen infotainment system and roof-mounted speakers. These aforementioned features are retained from the standard 4X4 Thar and will carry the exact same configuration. Talking about colour options, Blazing Bronze and Everest White are confirmed as of now and both of these are new to the Thar. Mahindra may be offering these colours to differentiate it from the standard 4X4 model or these new options will likely trickle down to the existing vehicle.
Mahindra Thar 4X2 RWD: Powertrain
The upcoming Mahindra Thar 4X2 will come in two engine choices, i.e a 1.5-litre diesel and the infamous 2.0-litre mStallion petrol unit. The former will be mated to only a 6-speed manual gearbox while the latter will get the familiar AISIN-sourced 6-speed automatic unit. Both the powertrain combinations will drive channel the power to the rear wheels. The power output number for the diesel will be 115 bhp and 300 Nm, while the petrol will retain its 150 bhp and 320 Nm state of tune.
