The vlogger takes his brand-new Force Gurkha to the mountains in this video to explore the broken mountain road portions with his friends who possess current-generation Mahindra Thar SUVs. The vlogger, who also owns a Mahindra Thar, contrasts the two vehicles on off-road parts in this video. Vlogger and his buddies were driving up a mountain road when they got to a portion where the road's entrance was narrow and had a large pile of soil on one end.
The Mahindra Thar comfortably navigated the mountain road's narrow entry, and the YouTuber then took his Gurkha on the same stretch, which had struggled at first because the differential locks were not engaged The driver suddenly activated the differential lock, and the Gurkha sped through the section. It comes with a starting price of Rs 13.17 lakh that goes up to Rs 15.53 lakh (ex-showroom).
When comparing the Force Gurkha to the Thar, it's worth noting that the Force Gurkha features smaller wheels and less articulation than the standard Thar. The wheels were lifting in the air as the vlogger attempted to clear the part. When three more Thar drove through the stretch, the automatic differential lock and better articulation ensured that the wheels stayed on the road and that no wheel was in the air.
The team then proceeds up the broken mountain road after clearing the first hurdle. The Force Gurkha boasts a stiffer suspension system, which aids the SUV on rough roads. The SUV can easily be driven on such roads, according to the vlogger, due to the stiffer setup. When the car climbs up rocky sections, there is a lot of body roll because it is a taller vehicle than Thar.
Both Mahindra Thar and Force Gurkha are capable enough to tackle these type of roads, while the Thar comes with a upper hand as it gets an automatic gearbox with both petrol and engine option, automatic differential lock and other advance tech. On the other hand the Gurkha is more rough and rugged off-roader that gives all the control in your hand.
The Mahindra Thar comes with a powerful 2.2-litre diesel engine and a 2-litre turbo petrol engine as an option. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual transmission and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The Gurkha, on the other hand, is equipped with a 2.6-litre diesel engine and a 5-speed manual transmission.
