Maruti Ertiga CNG July 2024: 43,000 Open Bookings
Back in 2020, Maruti made the decision to quit diesel mills in the country and stick to the spirit engines only. Noticing a demand from eco-conscious buyers looking for alternative fuels, the CNG line-up took center stage to make up for it. Currently, Maruti has an extensive portfolio of CNG cars including Alto, Brezza, Baleno, Fronx, Grand Vitara, and more to a total of 12 models. The demand for a family MPV with a CNG option has made the Maruti Ertiga CNG a big seller for the brand and it currently accounts for over 43,000 units pending to be delivered.
Its comprehensive feature set includes a 7-inch Smartplay Pro Touchscreen Infotainment System featuring Arkamys Surround Sense, wireless compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a Multi-Information Display (MID) with Turn-by-Turn Navigation. The Ertiga also incorporates Suzuki Connect~ with over 40 features, remote air conditioning control, Automatic Headlamps, Cruise Control, and more.
In terms of utility, the Ertiga offers practical spaces such as air-cooled cup holders, a front-row armrest with a utility box, bottle holders, and accessory sockets in each row. Rear passengers enjoy comfort enhancements like the second-row roof-mounted AC with adjustable air vents and 3-stage speed control. Also, the third-row seats are thoughtfully designed with reclining and flat-fold functionality, providing added versatility and comfort.

Maruti Ertiga Engine Details
The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is powered by a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine enhanced with Progressive Smart Hybrid Technology, delivering exceptional fuel efficiency of up to 20.51 km/l. This engine generates 101.6 bhp of power and a peak torque of 136.8 Nm. It is offered with a choice of a 5-speed manual transmission or an automatic transmission. In addition to the petrol variant, the Ertiga also features a CNG powertrain option, achieving an impressive efficiency of 26.11 km/kg or higher.
Verdict
The demand for CNG variants continue to offset the lack of any diesel option within the Maruti's portfolio. However, keeping up with the surging demand, Maruti has also ramped up its monthly production capacity and is pro actively taking measures to deliver the models at the earliest.
