- MG Hector Facelift is expected to get Level 2 ADAS
- It will get a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system which is the biggest in the segment
- Do expect a slight increase in the prices of Hector facelift
MG Motor India is all set to launch the Hector facelift in India on January 5. Earlier, as per the reports on the internet, it was reported that the carmaker was launching the facelifted version of the mid-size SUV in December but now the date has been pushed towards January 5.
Design-wise, the carmaker has tweaked the exterior of the SUV. It now gets an aggressive front set-up with U-shaped chrome studded grille design that joins with the LED headlights. In addition to this, the front profile gets tweaked fog light housing and the faux skid plate that gives the SUV a sportier stance. Moving towards the side profile, the silhouette remains more or less the same but we do expect to see new alloy wheels with the Hector facelift. The changes at the rear will be minimalistic as well.
Feature-wise, the Hector facelift gets a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system. It is the biggest in the segment. Other features include an automatic climate control system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, an electronic parking brake, a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster and more.

The new Hector facelift will be big on the safety equipment as well. We can expect Level 2 ADAS to be featured in this SUV. MG currently have three cars that have ADAS and those are - Gloster, ZS EV and Astor. Features like landed departure warning, lane assist system, lane departure provision, adaptive cruise control and more are expected to be seen in the Hector facelift.
The cabin of the Hector facelift too gets a completely revamped layout. A new two-tone oak white and black colour scheme gives the SUV a neat look. Also, the AC vents are re-positioned, and there are bits of piano black and aluminium bits on the dashboard which gives the interior an upmarket look.

Verdict
Mechanically, nothing will be changed with the Hector facelift. It will continue with the 2.0L diesel, 1.5L petrol and 1.5L petrol hybrid motor. Do expect the price to rise with the facelifted version. Once launched, it will rival Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV700 5-seater.
