2025 BMW X3: Details
The new X3 has been previewed by the Neue Klasse concept shown globally sometime in 2023. The kidney grille of the new X3 features elements that resemble a certain CPU case, and it also features illumination. The front bumper gets even larger air intakes now, while the headlights have become more fluid and sleek than the outgoing car. The square-ish roofline towards the rear and the new T-shaped tail lights round off things, giving it a very XM-like vibe.
In terms of size, the new X3 is 34 mm longer and 29 mm wider than before, while height has dropped down to 25 mm. BMW says the new X3 gets wider tracks as well. The measurements now stand at 4755mm length, 1920mm width, and 1660mm height.
Not much is known about the powertrains, but we expect the regular 2.0-litre twin-turbo petrol and diesel optons to be retained from before, albeit with tweaked power outputs. Globally, it also gets hybrid powertrain options, and there is a small possibility BMW might bring them here. There is also an M50 xDrive variant, which is powered by a 3.0-litre, twin-turbo mill, producing 392bhp and 579Nm of torque.
The interiors of the new X3 see a huge revamp, taking inspiration from the 5 Series with the ambient lighting panels and other sharp, angular elements. It gets a new blended screen setup running on the BMW Operating System 9, and a new iDrive system with QuickSelect.

Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works Trim
The Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works Trim is also set to be launched at the upcoming 2025 Auto Expo. While being based on the standard Mini Cooper S, the John Cooper Works trim focuses on enhancing the sportiness of the car with black treatment in certain places, along with a JCW-inspired rear spoiler and alloy wheels. The interiors of the car will also feature JCW-based enhancements.
Verdict
With its dramatically new styling and interiors, the new X3 is sure to raise a lot of interest. This will also force rivals for a generational change sooner rather than later. As for the Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works, more details shall be known at the 2025 Auto Expo.
