Next-Gen BMW X5 Spotted; Details

The new X5 will undergo a drastic redesign, keeping in line with the rest of the upcoming cars from BMW's lineup, most notably the next-gen 3 Series, about which we have spoken elsewhere on our website. It continues with a muscular stance, while most of the panels carry a clean, minimalistic look. It also gets flush-fitting door handles, a futuristic rendition of the kidney grille. The overall appearance is of a grown-up version of the all-electric iX3.

As for the powertrain options, there will be several of them available globally, which includes mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric in addition to the conventional petrol and diesel powertrain options. There are reports that it will carry on with the current CLAR platform. More specifically, the India-spec X5 is likely to come with the set of 3.0-litre petrol and diesel powertrains, with mild-hybrid assistance.

There are no shots of the interiors available just yet, but given how the iX3's interiors appear to be, we can expect similar treatment with a full-length display lower on the windscreen, along with a central touch screen infotainment system, giving the dashboard a futuristic, minimalist look. According to reports, level 3 ADAS compatibility is being worked on, and it will also come with many other features typical of a premium SUV.
Verdict
The X5 is among BMW's most recognisable SUVs globally, and with the next-gen model, things are going to take quite the drastic turn in terms of design and the overall experience.
