Renault Kiger, Triber EVs & More Planned Over The Next 18 Months
Taking a look at the past few years, it is easy to say that Renault has been playing safe with just 3 models in its Indian line-up. However, shifting gears and going aggressive to cement its position in the evolving Indian car scene, it is planning some really interesting launches for the next 18 months. This will see them expanding into the mass market EVs, including the Renault Kiger EV and the Triber EVs. This is something that you can hope to see towards the second half of 2025 as the facelifts for the above-mentioned models are also in the pipeline for 2025, and will most likely follow the first ICE and then EV launch plans. And then yes, the Renault Duster and Bigster are all set for a debut in 2026.
This comes at a time when the brand isn't at its best placement and this is something that the higher officials do admit. Plus, the competition in India is a bit more challenging where not just the Indian players like Tata, Mahindra, and Maruti have a lot to offer, but also the Chinese and Korean manufacturers riding the SUV wave pretty well. While it will be a good thing to tap into the now gradually rising EV car scene in India, the bridging hybrid models could be a better option for faster adoption. This is something that the Duster will take care of.

New Launches With Revival In Sight
Someone with inside knowledge of Renault's plans in India suggests their strategywhich includes new EVs, facelifts, and bringing back some older modelsfeels more like reacting to the market than actively shaping it, putting it this way: "If Renault truly wants to become a major player again in India, they need to do more than just offer minor updates and launch cars late. They need to really focus on making their products stand out, improving the customer experience, and being more proactive in engaging with the market. That's the only way they'll turn things around." It's also worth noting that there's a shift happening behind the scenes in their sales and marketing team. Dacia Spain's CEO, Francisco Hidalgo Marques, is taking the reins after Sudhir Malhotra stepped down late last year, to spearhead this new phase of the French automaker.
Verdict
The plans to move swiftly in the market is something that will put Renault in spotlight, meaning more attention and talks aroudn it, and this is something that the brand is focusing on. While all the new itroductions will have thier own role, but it is the return of Renault Duster that will majorly be its turning point. If they can nail the pricing, this SUV can just hit the bulls eye!
