Hunter 350 Details
Hunter is being claimed as the lightest Enfield ever made. The compact design has been taken from the J1 platform that is also used on the Classic 350. Surprisingly, it is 14 kg lighter than the Classic itself. Hunter is available in two variants - Retro & Metro. Retro is the entry-level variant with fewer features and lower specs. It is priced at Rs 1,49,900 ex-showroom Chennai.
The Retro variant is available in two single-tone colour shades - Dapper Grey & Dapper Black. The main feature of the Retro includes - 17-inch spoked tube-type tyres, a semi-digital instrument cluster, single-channel ABS, a 300mm front disc brake, etc. Ironically, the Retro variant misses out on some latest specifications as seen on the rivals. These specs are covered via the Metro variant.
Metro variant comes in 6 colour options. The single-tone colour options include - Rebel grey and Rebel black. These shades are priced at Rs 1,64,900 ex-showroom Chennai. However, there are 4 dual-tone colour options offered along with these. The dual-tone shades are priced at Rs 1,68,900 ex-showroom Chennai.

Engine & Specifications
The engineers have used the same engine that is seen on the current J1 platform bikes. The robust and refined 350cc engine has been re-tuned to power the Hunter. This powertrain is a single-cylinder, air-cooled unit. The maximum power output stands at 20.2 hp and 27 Nm for torque. The gearbox is a standard 5-speed as seen on the Meteor 350 as well.
However, the specifications on both variants are much different. Speaking of the Retro variant, it has been fitted with 17-inch spoked tube-type rims. In fact, the width of tyres is also less when compared to the Metro variant. Similarly, the switchgear on both the bikes is different and so is the instrument console.
Hunter has been equipped with single-channel ABS for the Retro variant and dual-channel ABS for the Metro. Metro Hunter also comes with 17-inch tubeless alloy wheels that make it more lighter and agile. The Retro weighs 181 kg wet while the Metro weighs only 177 kg wet. This means that agility and traceability have been targeted during the design. The reduced weight has also helped in achieving a claimed fuel economy of 36.2 kmpl.
The company has also made sure that the weight remains centrally aligned. To do this, the exhaust has been designed in a short-barrel layout. The overall lightweight and the central weight alignment have made the Hunter a very city-friendly bike. It also comes with 3 trip meters and a gear position indicator.
Hunter also uses the re-tuned gearbox with a remapped ECU. The 5th gear in itself is an overdrive. This translates that highway cruising will be much more comfortable than before for this engine. Hunter also comes with an ECO light for helping in efficient riding techniques.
Delivery Details & Rivals
Hunter 350 has been destined to retail from the upcoming August 10. In fact, the test rides will also be available only after that. However, bookings are open now and customers can easily book the bike via online/offline methods. The main rivalry of Hunter constitutes - Honda CB350 RS, Jawa 42, & TVS Ronin.
