Skoda's latest addition to its Monte Carlo portfolio is the Slavia. The Czech car maker has unveiled it alongside the Sportline trim, and bookings open from 5pm onwards today. The Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo and the Sportline mainly receive cosmetic tweaks over the regular Slavia, and we expect a price hike over the regular car as well.

Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo and Sportline Exterior
Being a sportier, look-faster version of the regular Slavia, the exterior elements of the Slavia Monte Carlo receive black treatment instead of chrome, such as the grille and its surrounding bits and the window surround.
The front bumper receives a new 'spoiler', and the door handles receive dark chrome treatment, while the ORVMs and the roof are finished in black as well.
The car also gets Monte Carlo 16-inch black alloy rims, Monte Carlo badging on the fenders, a black side strip on the lower part of the doors. Moving to the rear, the tail-lights have been darkened, the lip spoiler and badging have been given black finish as well.
The Slavia Sportline too, receives similar treatment on the outside, featuring blacked-out bits. However, the Sportline variants will likely be offered in multiple dual-tone paint schemes, while the Monte Carlo can be expected to offer in the dual-tone red, and dual-tone white and black paint schemes.
Skoda Slavia Monte Carlo and Sportline Interior
As one would expect from any Monte Carlo Edition car, the Skoda Slavia is no different, receiving black interiors with red contrast treatment on the seats, dashboard, and door stitching as well. There's also Monte Carlo-inscription on the seats and scuff plate, while the digital cluster also gets a red theme. Aluminium pedals have also been offered, and things such as the door trims also receive black treatment instead of chrome.
In terms of features and equipment, the Slavia Monte Carlo will retain the same kit as its range-topping variants, offering things such as front ventilated seats, powered sunroof, auto-fold ORVMs, a 10.25-inch infotainment touch screen with smartphone connectivity, a digital cluster, a rear centre armrest.
In comparison, the Slavia Sportline retains the standard beige and black interiors of the regular Slavia. However, there is a different, pattern-based upholstery on the seats.

Verdict
The Slavia Monte Carlo and the Sportline will certainly sit well with those who've been wanting a racier, sportier mid-size sedan, the latter more so since it is the more accessible variant. Either way, both the new trims of Slavia will help buyers stand out from the current crop of mid-size sedans that are proven performers, but look a little dull.
