Suzuki Access Electric In Consideration To Rival Activa EV

Suzuki is gearing up to enter the Indian electric scooter market with an electric version of the Suzuki Access, expected to launch in 2025. This move positions Suzuki to compete directly with the upcoming Honda Activa electric scooter. Prior to the Access electric, Suzuki has been testing the electric Burgman Street on Indian roads. However, the company plans to prioritize the launch of Access Electric, leveraging the shared platform between the two models to streamline development and testing processes. There are however no further details and there would be some time before we could get a concrete production-spec model. As for that matter, we have a fair bit of idea as to what to expect from Activa Electric with all the teasers and details revealed.

Honda has revealed two potential digital cluster designs for its upcoming electric scooters. One is a modern TFT unit, similar to the one found on the international CUV e electric scooter, while the other is a more basic LCD unit. Honda plans to launch two new electric scooters based on a completely new platform, with one offering a fixed battery pack and the other featuring swappable battery packs. Given the CUV's swappable battery technology, it's likely that the Activa Electric will come with a fixed battery pack.

Although there are no further details regarding the launch timeline or any other reveal dates, it is expected to come to life around the festive season next year.

Verdict

Suzuki Access has been the obvious alternative to the Honda Activa and this rivalry will be going on in their electric variants as well. Going by the trajectory as to how the Activa is shaping up, even though not much is known about the Access electric at the moment, going by the details known about the Activa electric, expect the Suzuki model to offer comparable package at a competitive price point.
