Tata Punch Facelift Spied With New Features And More
The upcoming Tata Punch facelift is set to feature comprehensive design updates aimed at distinguishing it from both the current models and its EV variant. Unlike the Punch EV, which includes specific elements like an enclosed grille for its electric version, the facelifted ICE model will showcase a redesigned front grille. While the spied images provide a limited view, we anticipate the front fascia to adopt Tatas latest design language, something we have seen with the new Tata Nexon and the Punch EV.
Additionally, it is expected to incorporate an all-LED headlamp and fog lamp setup similar to its EV counterpart. From the side profile, the overall silhouette appears unchanged, although we anticipate redesigned alloy wheels to be introduced at launch, despite the test mule sporting current alloys. The rear design retains a similar look with unchanged taillights.
Interior And Features
The updated interior of the Tata Punch facelift includes a larger infotainment system, potentially the same 10.25-inch display found in the Tata Punch EV. A drive mode button, reminiscent of the one seen in the Tata Altroz, was spotted near the gear lever. While the test mule currently showcases the existing steering wheel and a familiar white and black interior, there's a possibility it could adopt the newer 2-spoke steering wheel design seen in recent Tata models, including the Punch EV. On top of this, the Tata Punch facelift may also offer a 10.25-inch fully digital drivers display and ventilated front seats, and more such features. Safety enhancements are expected to include six airbags, electronic stability control, and a 360-degree camera system with blind spot monitoring.

No Mechanical Changes
The Punch facelift will retain the same 1.2-litre petrol engine found in the current model, delivering 88 PS and 115 Nm of torque. It will continue to be available with a choice of either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed AMT gearbox. For those opting for the CNG variant, the engine outputs 73.5 PS and 103 Nm of torque. Currently, the CNG option is paired exclusively with a manual gearbox, but Tata may introduce an AMT gearbox with the facelift, similar to what is offered on the Tata Tiago CNG and Tigor CNG models.
Anticipated to launch early next year at a price of around Rs. 6.5 lakhs, it will rub shoulders with the likes of Hyundai Exter, Maruti Fronx, and more.
Verdict
Since its launch back in 2021, Tata Punch was due for upgrades and looks like the new design philosophy will finally take over the exisiting model. With trusted mechanics kept afloat, the added feature list will make its sales chart even more attratcive for the brand to look at. However, expect a slight price adjustment to incorpotate these new additions.
