Tata has pulled the wraps off its performance-oriented and more powerful Tata Altroz Racer. Having the market winner in their Punch and Tata Nexon, it can now shift its focus to the performance hatchbacks and rival Hyundai i20 N- line for the title at the Auto Expo 2023. What all does it packs and will it be a worthy rival? Let's take a look.
Altroz Racer: The Performer In Red-Black Dual Tone
To challenge the dominance of the Hyundai i20 N-Line, Tata has unveiled its performance-oriented hatch, the Altroz Racer. It gets a dual-tone Red-Black dual-tone color scheme for complementing the power underneath. The bodyshell is the same as the regular Altroz with the main deviations being on the inside. There are red accents running all throughout the cabin to remind you of the power on offer.
Also, it gets sportier side skirts which add to the overall adventurous appeal of the vehicle making it visually identifiable.

Altroz Racer Powertrain: Made to Sprint
It gets a 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine named the i-Turbo. This powertrain produces a torque of 170 Nm and 120 PS of power. This is higher than that of the Naturally Aspirated petrol engine which produces a torque of 113 Nm and a power of 86 PS which is also shared with the Tata Tiago and the Tata Tigor. It also gets the TA78 6-speed manual gearbox in place of the five-speed MT of the i-Turbo. The suspension is however the same as the regular variant.
Comparing it with the closest rival on the market, the Hyundai i20 N-Line, it has almost similar power figures, which makes it a direct contender for the crown of performance hatchbacks.
Features: It Gets Much Better
Not only has the Racer got more power underneath, but it also gets a host of new feature updates as well. It now gets a bigger 10.25-inch infotainment screen for a better media experience. The most demanded feature of the Indian buyer has been a sunroof and the Tata with the Racer has included one in this variant, and that too with voice activation.
It now also gets a wireless charging feature which makes it on par with the new hatchback launch, where this is becoming a standard. Additionally, the new Altroz Racer is equipped with an air purifier and gets front-ventilated seats as well. These additional features are a few major updates over the regular
