Maruti e Vitara
Maruti has planted its feet in the SUV space with players in both the compact and mid-size SUV space and is now one of the major players in the SUV category after Mahindra. What is missed out on until now, is an EV, which is soon going to change at the Bharat Mobility Show in January where the first ever Maruti EV, the e Vitara will be revealed. It is important to note that it has already been showcased at the Milan Motor Show but the India debut was kept for a later date which will be a big addition to the Maruti cars in the country,
As for the battery and range details, it is speculated that two battery capacities will be offered for the e-Vitara: a 49 kWh pack and a higher-capacity 61 kWh unit. The smaller battery will be exclusively available with a two-wheel-drive setup. Opting for the larger 61 kWh battery, however, will unlock the option of all-wheel drive, powered by Maruti's ALLGRIP-e system. Regarding driving range, the larger battery is projected to deliver approximately 600 km on a full charge.

Maruti Grand Vitara 7 Seater
Currently known internally as Y17, this forthcoming SUV is essentially a three-row iteration of the Grand Vitara, slated to occupy a higher position in Maruti Suzuki's lineup. It will feature a slightly extended wheelbase compared to the Grand Vitara and incorporate some design modifications for a more flagship appeal. Recent spy photos suggest that the front styling takes cues from the globally revealed e-Vitara, while the remaining elements, including the 1.5-liter petrol and petrol-hybrid powertrains, as well as the features offered, will be shared with the five-seater version. Anticipated to launch towards the end of 2025, this will be Maruti's flagship SUV, and also the first 3-row SUV from the brand. Given the success of the Grand Vitara, is also makes a lot of sense to further develop it to a bigger SUV with an additional row.
Verdict
Maruti cars are pretty quick to be adopted in the Indian market given its long standing repuation of reliability and easy maintanence. With its new focus on EVs and SUVs, buyers are eager to take a look at what are the options emanating from the biggest carmaker in India by market share. These upcoming models promise a pretty solid future and some serious rivalry within the repsective segments.
