Triumph Thruxton 400 - Things To Expect
So, this 400cc motorcycle is essentially Triumph Speed 400 under skin, but the automaker has converted that to a cafe racer. For people who love an old-school design featuring a retro - circular shaped front lights with a half fairing that extends till tank shoulders, give this bike a special look. Some cues are also borrowed from the larger Thruxton 1200 cafe racer, giving the 400 a more aggressive and sporty stance. To add more, clip on handle bars and bar end mirrors, are also visible.
We believe the engine will be similar to the one offered in the Speed 400, producing 39.5 bhp and 37.5 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed transmission. At 91Wheels, we expect it to come with features like a semi-digital instrument cluster, dual-channel ABS, traction control, and a USB charging port. An LED lighting setup is not something out of the ordinary to expect, and both wheels will be 17 inches.
One thing different we found on this motorcycle is that it carries the exhaust from the all-new Speed T4, not the regular Speed. Moreover, this bike will be positioned between the Speed and Scrambler 400X, starting somewhere from Rs 2.50 lakh ex-showroom.

Verdict
This motorcycle does look really interesting from every angle, and that's because of the retro style Triumph has given it. Cafe racers aren't typically considered for everyday usability, but Triumph might make adjustments to make it as mass-market ready as their other 400cc bikes, since it carries the same engine. More information about it is coming soon, so stay tuned to 91Wheels.
