India's best-selling SUV, the Hyundai Creta, appeared in its ev version during testing in the national capital today. Fresh new shots reveal exciting details about this highly anticipated model. The Creta EV, which will replace the Kona Electric, looks quite similar to the regular despite the camouflage. However, I noticed a few changes that I'd like to discuss. What can we expect in the upcoming Creta ev?

The Creta EV, covered in black sheets, showcased the style philosophy it will carry forward from the current Creta. However, the grille and bumper might be redesigned to give it a unique touch, fitting for an EV. The alloy wheels subtly reminded me of the Hyundai Ioniq 5. Additionally, the charging port is going to be positioned at the front, inside the grille, as reported earlier.

The test mule photo, which gave us a sneak peek inside the Creta EV, also revealed a newly designed steering wheel, crafted specifically for the EV lineup. Additionally, the drive mode selectors are placed on the steering column.

What will be Creta ev powersource?

The upcoming EV is expected to feature a 39.2 kWh battery setup, the same one used in the Kona Electric. This setup produces 134.10 hp and 395 Nm of torque. It offers a range of 452 km and takes about 6 hours to fully charge. and most likely, we'll get a FWD Creta ev.

It will definitely be thrilling to see how the Creta ev performs following the discontinuation of the Kona Electric. Currently, this Korean brand has only one EV in India, the Ioniq 5. When the Creta ev arrives, it will compete directly with the Tata Curvv, Mahindra XUV 400, MG ZS EV, and Maruti Suzuki EVX, all of which are set to be revealed next year. The expected price for the Creta EV is estimated to be between Rs 20 to 30 lakh.

Verdict

The spy shots of the upcoming Creta EV make me both euphoric and curious. While the overall design remains the same, we know that Hyundai never likes to play it safe. Remember the i20 Active? Fingers crossed, hoping the Creta EV turns out to be even better than the ICE Creta and sets new standards in the automotive world.
