Kia EV9 SUV Latest Sighting: Sheds Majority Of Its Veil

The Kia EV9 is a full-size 3-row electric SUV that is not new to the spy shot world here in India, however, it's not a frequent visitor either. Spied on a few occasions in the past as well, this time it goes a length forward to make itself comfortable without any unnecessary heavy camo. Spotted in a deep black paint job, it dons the usual elements like the vertically stacked LED headlamps with DRLs, shut-off grille, and EV-centric air drag-reducing alloy design.

The rear exudes a bulky upright stance with a sleek and understated tailgate receiving a sporty enhancement with the addition of a spoiler, while the L-shaped taillights extending from the C-pillars to the bumper form a distinctive signature. Kia's approach with the EV9 is evident a blend of style and functionality, ensuring it catches attention while confidently navigating the roads.

Interior And Features

The electric SUV's interior closely resembles that of its global counterpart, featuring a four-spoke steering wheel and dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment, and a digital instrument cluster, set against an all-black interior backdrop. Within the Kia EV9, passengers can expect a generously spacious three-row layout with a contemporary dashboard design. Enhancing comfort, the vehicle offers amenities such as three-zone climate control, heated and ventilated seats, and a smart power tailgate. Embedded with cutting-edge technology and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), the EV9 provides an array of connectivity options, including wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, USB-C ports and over-the-air updates.

Performance And Range

The Kia EV9 will be offered with 2 battery pack options. The entry-level variant is powered by a 76.1 kWh battery linked to a 215 hp single electric motor, delivering an estimated range of approximately 504 km. For those seeking an extended range, the long-range version boasts a 99.8 kWh battery paired with a 201 hp single electric motor, providing a range of around 562 km. Additionally, users have the option to select the dual-motor variant, delivering 379 hp for extra punch.

Verdict

Kia's strategic play in the Indian EV market with the imminent arrival of the EV9, carries substantial potential to redefine the current EV market dynamics.
