Mercedes-Benz G 580

Last Updated on 09 Dec'24: Design: The electric G 580 retains the design of the combustion-powered G-Wagen, but it gets EV-specific bits such as a blanked-off grille, illuminated borders, a square-box at the tailgate and aerodynamic alloy rims. 

Power and Performance: The G 580 is powered by four individual electric motors placed on each wheel. It also makes use of virtual differential locks via torque vectoring. Together, this setup produces 579bhp and 1164Nm of torque. 

Range: Backed by a 116kWh battery pack, the G 580 gets a claimed range of 473km on a single charge, and it can be charged by either a 11kW AC wallbox charger, or a 200kW DC fast charger. 

Features: Some of the features on offer include augmented reality-based navigation, 20 G-Class specific voice commands, two 11.6-inch screens for the rear passengers, a dashcam, a unique 'off-road cockpit', a transparent bonnet function, and the G-Turn among many others. 

Rivals: The Mercedes-Benz G 580 does not have any direct rivals as of now.
