Hyundai Creta Pros

Bold New Looks

The second generation of the Creta received a lot of negative reviews for its design, resulting in a polarizing overall reaction. However, the facelift has addressed that problem, and the new front and rear design appeals to almost every customer. The connected LED DRLs and the front fascia create a bold statement that captures your attention at first sight. The same story happens in the back with connected LED taillights, following the current automotive trend.

Jam-Packed With Features

Hyundai has left no stone unturned when it comes to adding all the latest features you'd expect in a car. From 10.25 inch dual screens to ADAS Level 2 and dual-zone climate control, the Creta facelift is on par with some high-end luxury cars in terms of features.

Choice Of Engines And Transmissions

This compact SUV offers three engine options and three transmission options. The first is a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine, producing 115 Ps and 143.8 Nm of torque. This engine is available with a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed iVT. The second is a 1.5L CRDi diesel engine, making 113 Ps of power and 250 Nm of torque, with the option of a 6-speed manual transmission or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

The third engine is performance-oriented, the 1.5L turbo GDI petrol churning out 160 Ps and 253 Nm of torque. Hyundai offers only one transmission with it, the 7-speed DCT.

A More Tough Platform

For the 2024 facelift, it uses more high-strength steel in its frame, making it tougher than the previous model. This translates to the Hyundai Creta being safer than ever. The previous model received 3 stars in the Global NCAP rating, which disappointed many fans, and Hyundai took note of it. There are no crash test results for this model yet, and no report on when the company will send it for testing.

However, adding to the safety features, all models of the Creta come standard with ABS, ESC, Hill Hold Assist, rear disc brakes, six airbags and three-point seatbelts.

Creta For Everyone

The base variant of the 2024 Hyundai Creta starts at Rs 10.99 lakh ex-showroom, and the top-end model with the 1.5 L Turbo petrol costs Rs 20.14 lakh ex-showroom. In between, there are 28 trims divided among petrol, diesel, and transmission options. Hyundai has designed its trim levels to appeal to everybody, which is likely a significant reason why the Creta sells so well. The possibilities here are endless, and there isn't a model that doesn't check all your boxes.

Driveability of Hyundai Creta

It is extremely easy to drive, and people of all ages love to take control of it. Its strength lies in its comfort across various terrains. Even at high speeds, the Creta doesn't slip, and the driver doesn't lose confidence. Well, that's the perk of having a monocoque chassis. Also, the soft suspension lets this car glide over bumpy roads, ensuring passengers remain unaware of rough paths. The handling and braking performance are adequate, and visibility is top-notch.

Hyundai Creta Cons

Fit and Finish

Above: Creta center console

Near the center console, the shiny plastic covering the drive mode selector and auto hold function creates a crackling noise when you rest your knees on it. This issue was also present in the previous model, and the automaker didn't address it. After some time, you will accept it, but in the beginning, it will irritate you. However, this is not a big issue, but it's worth mentioning here.

Top Trims Are Very Expensive

The ex-showroom price of the top-spec SX (0) 1.5 Turbo DCT Dual Tone is Rs 20.14 lakh, but the final price after taxes will be around Rs 24 lakh. This makes it extremely costly for people who want to buy a premium compact SUV packed with features. As a result, many end up choosing a mid variant, which loses out on some modern features.

Verdict

That's it. There are more pros than cons for the Hyundai Creta, which boils down to why it is the highest-selling SUV in India. People love its presence and the image it creates of the owner. Simply incredible. Besides the features and several choices, it drives extremely well. If you want a sportier version that's more agile and less comfortable, Hyundai offers the Creta N-Line. Additionally, the 1.5L Turbo packs all the punch.
