At a time when scooters were considered more for basic commuting and had functional mature designs, TVS shocked the mass market with the Ntorq 125, the brands first-ever take on sports scooters. With sporty looks, even sportier performance and several exclusive and new-age features, the Ntorq 125 became one of the favourites of younger-generation scooter buyers, especially college-going males. The sportiness of the TVS Ntorq 125 made it a great alternative to those who wanted the sporty feel of 125-150cc motorcycles but with the practicality and convenience of scooters.

Launched in 2018, the TVS Ntorq 125 lineup was expanded with more variants and features, and in 2024, three of its variants were updated with new colour options. Heres how the Ntorq 125 has redefined sportiness in the 125cc scooter category and what has been added or changed in the scooter.

TVS Ntorq 125 Old vs New: Design And Brief History

Launched in 2018, the overall design of the TVS Ntorq 125 has remained unchanged since then. The stealth-inspired design of the Ntorq 125 makes it look sporty and edgy, characterised by sharp creases on the front apron and side body panels. Soon after its launch in the base-spec variant with monotone colours, the Ntorq 125 received multiple editions like Race Edition, Super Squad Edition, Race XP and XT, all of which have different body graphics. The Race XP also has contrast red-coloured alloy wheels that make it look even sportier.

Verdict

The Ntorq 125 ticks all the boxes for a practical, sports-oriented scooter. It is powerful, fancy, and kitted out to the T for a 125cc scooter. While it might not be as composed and fuel-efficient as other 110-125cc family-oriented scooters, the Ntorq 125 is a brave attempt by TVS, in which it has succeeded owing to its purposeful design and several fancy features that give it a cool quotient.
