It's not been a long since the Italian premium motorcycle manufacturer introduced their flagship adventure bike the Multistrada V4. Now an updated version of the 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4 motorcycle has been unveiled globally. Though not very radical updates, the minor changes have made this motorcycle even more desirable.

Launched back in 2021, the Ducati Multistrada V4 is priced between Rs 18.99 - 23.30 Lakhs (ex-showroom). The new changes include the cosmetic enhancements as well as technical upgrades as following:

  • New colour option for the Multistrada V4
  • Thoroughly revised electronic suspension
  • UI & Software updates for the infotainment system

Called as the 'Glossy White', the new colour is a shade of white which will join the Ducati Red and the Aviator Grey colour options already present for the Multistrada V4. This new colour option will further be made available in four different options which include the Essential, Radar, Travel & Radar formats. Customers can visit Ducati's website once the updated motorcycle is added on the online portal by March 2022 end.

Apart from the colour, the biggest change which the new motorcycle brings is the use of semi-automatic function for the electronic suspension. Already seen on the Harley Davidson Pan-America adventure motorcycle, this feature automatically lowers the suspension at low speed to enhance the ride comfort as well as provide more ease of riding through traffic and tight spaces for the rider.

This new feature is badged as Minimum Preload function and shall be very useful for riding conditions which involve maneuvering along passenger as well as luggage at lower speeds. The 50mm fully-adjustable front fork suspension has a travel of 170 mm which is highly useful in off-road terrain but this results in a cumbersome maneuvering posture at low speeds. The new electronic suspension aid will improve the practicality of Multistrada V4 drastically.

Ducati has also enhanced the Human-Machine Interface (HMI) along the Ducati Connect (Infotainment) system. The new screen will now feature more sorted graphics, a detailed and sharp analysis of motorcycle on-the-go to the rider. This feature can also be availed by the existing Multistrada V4 owners; as only an update is required which Ducati is providing for free of cost.

The new Multistrada V4 continues using the test and proven 1,158cc Granturismo V4 engine which produces a healthy peak power of 170hp and a peak torque of 125Nm that comes mated to a 6 speed constant-mesh gearbox.

Specifications will include the 320mm twin-disc brake with monobloc 4-piston setup up front and a 256mm single disc brake at rear connected via a dual-channel ABS which also bears the feature of switching it off via toggle of a button. Ducati also offers the IMU cornering-ABS on the Multistrada V4 to tackle tricky road situations safely. Supporting the chassis and frame are the 19-inch front and 17-inch rear tyre setup which behold the Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 rubbers for better off-road grip.

Ducati has also released an option of accessories which include two 76 Lt side pannier and a 41 Lt top box for carrying luggage for long hauls. Aiding the panniers are the internal bags which can access more luggage apart from panniers. These have been designed by Centro Stile Ducati in collaboration with Givi.

The updated 2022 Ducati Multistrada V4 is expected to launch sometime before the year-end; which one launched will continue rivaling the likes such as Harley Davidson Pan-America, Triumph Tiger 1200.
