Mahindra Scorpio is a brand in itself. The SUV has a vast fan following not only in the Indian market but globally too. As Mahindra is gearing up for the deliveries of the new 2022 Scorpio N in the Indian market, the brand will keep alive the older model as well and that will be known as Scorpio Classic.
Several spy shots of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio Classic have been spied on the internet but this one here is the top model, S11. The Scorpio Classic will be offered in two variants only - S and S11. Both the trims will be offered in 7 as well as 9-seater options.
From the images, the Scorpio Classic will ditch the older logo for a newer 'twin-peak' one that is seen on the Scorpio N as well as XUV700. It'll also get new 17-inch alloy wheels, black side body cladding, a revised grille and a tweaked lower front bumper design as well.

On the inside, the Scorpio Classic will get a new two-tone colour scheme of beige and black. This indeed looks premium and will give the passengers a sense of airiness once they are seated in the SUV. The white Scorpio Classic spied here gets side-facing jump seats while the red one gets a bench set-up.
The steering wheel remains the same as before but now gets piano black highlights instead of the grey colour as found before. There's also a new touchscreen infotainment system that looks more like an aftermarket fitment. Still, it looks good as it fits right into the head.
Other features include cruise control, steering mounted audio controls, automatic climate control, multi-information display, tilt adjustable steering wheel, all-four power windows, electrically adjustable ORVMs, projector headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights and more.

Mechanically, the Scorpio Classic will be powered by a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel motor. This engine produces 128 bhp of power on tap with a peak torque of 300 Nm. It gets mated to a 6-speed manual transmission only. There is no automatic gearbox on offer with the Scorpio Classic.
We expect the SUV to be launched in August and the expected prices are to stick between Rs 11 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. In other news, there's a massive discount of Rs 1.79 lakh on the older Scorpio SUV but that is only valid till stocks last.
