Honda has been working on the new iteration of its soft-road SUV CR-V. The 2023 Honda CR-V SUV is almost production-ready and it is expected to mark its global debut soon. Proving this fact are the latest spy shots coming in from China. The new spy photos reveal the production-ready exteriors of the new CR-V.
2023 Honda CR-V Design & Features
The newest iteration of the CR-V SUV from Honda is expected to launch in the global markets by the first half of 2023. The new production-ready model leaked images showcase to us the exact design details and expected features that the new car will embrace.
The front design is completely new with the redesigned all-LED projector headlights, front grille, and reworked bumper. Although, the overall resemblance matches the outgoing model of the CR-V. The front grille seems identical to the Honda Amaze sedan while the headlights are completely new to the design language of Honda. The front looks wide and muscular due to the raised bonnet lines.
Coming to the side profile, the new CR-V look identical to the China-specific Honda Breeze SUV. The design outlook is a mixture between the Honda HR-V and Breeze; both of them being international models. The sleek headlights are supported by a subtle side profile. Honda uses flared arch wheels and 18-inch alloy wheels for the new CR-V. The presence of all four-wheel disc brakes ensures Honda has redone the safety equipment in the new car.
The rear also looks identical to the previous generation CR-V but the sleek taillights now embrace a new design. The new triple LED treatment and stretched-out outline are prominent at the back. The boot gate is also larger as compared to the previous-gen car. One thing to notice is the low-loading lip due to the minimal rear bumper design.
CR-V Engine & Specifications
Honda uses the tested and proven 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine option in the CR-V. This engine generates peak power of 190 hp & 243 Nm of torque. Honda might also use a hybrid tech in the CR-V to make it more economical and efficient to run. Honda will offer the new CR-V with its reliable and proven CVT automatic gearbox globally.
2023 Honda CR-V India Launch & Price
While Honda recently discontinued some of its products such as the Honda Civic and the old-gen Honda CR-V itself; the launch of the new CR-V seems unlikely. Honda is focusing on its existing products and their sales. To do that, the company recently launched the Honda City e: HEV hybrid in India. Also, Honda has made it clear that it is developing an SUV specifically for the Indian market. This upcoming SUV shall be smaller in size and might compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, KIA Seltos, and the upcoming Maruti/Toyota SUV.
