Bajaj Auto has launched a more affordable variant of its Chetak electric scooter called the Chetak Blue. The new Bajaj Chetak Blue is priced at Rs 95,998 (ex-showroom). The new Chetak variant comes with a 2.88kWh battery pack and is available in five colours. Read details of the new Bajaj Chetak electric scooter variant below. Bajaj Chetak Blue - New Affordable Version
The new Chetak Blue edition comes with Standard and Tecpac variants. Both variants come with a 2.88 kWh battery pack which gives a range of 123 km and a top speed of 63 km/h. The scooters feature a digital instrument cluster, drum brakes on both ends, telescopic front fork at the front, and hydraulic spring among other features. The scooter comes with Eco mode as standard.
The Tecpac variant comes with some added features as compared to the Standard variants such as hill-hold, reverse mode, sports ride mode, and app connectivity. The app connectivity with the Tecpac is limited to some features only.
The scooter is available in 5 colour options namely Ebony Black, Racing Red, Cyber White, Azure Blue, and Lime Yellow.
The Chetak electric is also available in Urbane and Premium editions with a range of 113 km and 126 km respectively. Also, the charging time of the Premium edition is 4 hours and 30 minutes and the Urbane edition is 4 hours and 50 minutes, however, the Chetak Blue edition boasts a charging time of 6 hours.
Verdict
With the increasing competition in the electric two-wheeler segment OEMs are coming up with new affordable variants to cater more and more customers. The new Bajaj Chetak Blue edition seems to be a step towards making the scooter more affordable and more fierce rival in the segment. The new Bajaj Chetak Blue edition competes with the Ola S1X, Ather Rizta, and TVS iQube base variant.
