Kia has finally launched the Carens at a starting price of Rs 8.99 lakh and yes, it has surely left the potential buyers in a dilemma who are in the market for Maruti Ertiga, XL6, Hyundai Alcazar and Toyota Innova Crysta. With features loaded up to the brim, Carens is another spectacular product from Kia India. However, even with top-notch features, we have listed down 7 misses in the Kia Carens and in this article, we will just share that!
Price Difference Of Rs 2 lakh
The base Premium model of the Kia Carens with a 1.5L naturally aspirated petrol engine is priced at Rs 8.99 lakh. However, if you compare the same Premium variant of 1.4L turbo petrol and 1.5L diesel then it is priced at Rs 10.99 lakh which is a whopping Rs 2 lakh premium. All prices stick to ex-showroom, Delhi.
No Automatic Transmission For All Variants
The most powerful motor that is the 1.4L turbo petrol is offered with a 7-speed DCT as an option while the 1.5L diesel gets an optional 6-speed AT. However, the 1.5L is equipped with a six-speed manual transmission as standard. Unlike the Kia Seltos that gets an IVT as an option with this engine, Kia Carens only gets a stick shift.

No 360-degree camera
Kia Carens measures 4540 mm in length and for an inexperienced driver, parking in tight spaces will be a task. We expected this feature with the top-end variant that is priced at Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. Its competition Hyundai Alcazar gets this feature.
No Fully Digital Instrument Cluster
Like the 360-degree camera, this feature too is present in the Hyundai Alcazar for the top-end variants. While it is not a dealbreaker for some buyers, however, if someone goes for the top-spec variant which is priced at Rs 16.99 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi then it is a slight disappointment for the buyer knowing that a fully digital instrument cluster is the new tech.

No Panoramic Sunroof
Instead of an electric sunroof, Kia could have provided a larger panoramic sunroof for the top-spec Luxury Plus variant. It not only adds to the premiumness of the car but also gives an airy feeling to the passengers.
No electrically adjustable driver's seat
Well, its cousin, Hyundai Alcazar gets this feature, however, Kia Carens misses out on this one. We think that this is a must-have feature in modern cars.

Placement of Air Purifier
While we are impressed that Kia India is taking care of the air quality levels inside the cabin, however, the placement of the air purifier can be an issue for some of the passengers. The air purifier is placed on the back of the driver's seat and if the passenger row is above 6 ft then it sometimes hits the knees.
