Toyota Fortuner Engine Options
The Toyota Fortuner offers three distinct powertrain configurations, where the petrol variant features a 2.7-liter engine paired with a 4x2 automatic transmission, delivering 166 PS and 245 Nm of torque. Diesel options are more powerful, with the 2.8-liter unit producing 204 PS. When mated to a manual gearbox (available in both 4x2 and 4x4), it generates 420 Nm of torque, while the automatic transmission version bumps torque output up to 500 Nm.
Verdict
The axing of the petrol manual option takes away the 15 year leverage of the fuel option in the Delhi NCR region, as well as the added control that the manual gearbox offers. This leaves the manual enthusiasts to go just with the diesel option and pay more for that at the same time. However, this move might have stemmed from dwindling demand for the said model, but this definitely raises the entry price point of this beloved SUV of the Indian masses.
