New TVS Electric Two-Wheeler
According to reports, TVS said that it will launch a new product in the electric two-wheeler segment in this financial year. However, no other details of this upcoming electric two-wheeler are known yet.
Interestingly, the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer had also launched the X electric scooter sometime last year, which was aimed towards the sporty scooter segment. However, due to major issues with the scooter, TVS never commenced deliveries.

New TVS EV Possibilities
This year, TVS became the first manufacturer to hold India's first all-electric One Make Championship with the race-spec Apache RTE, which has performed successfully in its debut season. The race-spec Apache RTE has also been showcased at Motosoul and at the Bharat Mobility Expo as well. This does raise possibilities of a road-legal electric version of the Apache, which could be interesting, given that an affordable performance electric motorcycle is yet to be seen.
Another likelihood is an electric version of the very dependable XL100 moped, which continues to be popular even today. Currently existing as a gearless four-stroke moped, the two-wheeler manufacturer may want to offer an alternative to delivery agents on the lookout for a moped with similar capabilities but with the low running costs of an EV. This could then directly compete against the Kinetic e-Luna, but with added features.
Verdict
TVS is certainly looking to expand its EV lineup, which consists of only one product for now. While details of the new EV remain scarce, the fact that TVS could potentially enter a new segment will raise interest among buyers who are keen on switching to an electric two-wheeler.
