Ather is going to launch a new base version of its e-scooter brand 450. The upcoming Ather 450S e-scooter has been teased once again online. It is bound to launch on 3 August in India. Ather 450S E-Scooter LCD Dashboard Details
Ather will debut the new low-range version of the 450. It is called 450S and the launch date of it is 3 August. While the pre-bookings are already open for it; Ather has revealed its LCD dashboard. Teased online on its social media handles, the LCD dashboard looks quite futuristic. It'll get MID showing the essential info like the riding mode, speedometer, Bluetooth connectivity, range left, etc. The 450S will be not much different to look at than the 450X. However, it'll get an LCD unit that will not have a touch interface.
Meanwhile, the riding range of it'll be limited to 115km (claimed). This means that it'll get a smaller battery pack than the 450X. However, the performance of it will not be affected as anticipated by us. It'll get a top speed of 90 kmph which means the performance will be equivalent to the 450X. But, due to less cost, it'll get less riding range, fewer features, & a smaller battery pack. Meanwhile, we're not sure whether the electric motor will make the same peak power of 6.2kW on it or will it make less.
Verdict
Ather is well-established brand in the two-wheeler EV segment of India. The 450X is loved by customers for its good build quality, great dynamics, & fast performance. However, the 450X costs more (especially after the increment of prices after the revision of FAME-II subsudy. Therefore, the 450S makes sense as rivals have also introduced such low-range versions of their products. For example, Ola S1 Air & TVS iQube S.
