Ather Energy Limited has launched a new 'Eight70 Warranty' at Rs 4,999 for its Rizta and 450 Series electric scooters. This program offers a minimum 70% battery health assurance for up to 8 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first.
Ather Energy introduced this to bust myths about electric scooters' long-term battery health, performance, and replacement costs, which have become significant barriers preventing customers from owning an EV. Ather Energy 'Eight70 Warranty'
As per the press release, here are the key benefits of this newly launched program, which is available as an add on at Rs 4,999.
- Coverage for up to 8 years or 80,000 km, whichever comes first
- 70% battery health assurance
- Full coverage against manufacturing defects and failures
- No upper limit on claim amounts
- No claim rejection due to deep discharge of battery cells when the scooter is left uncharged or in an idle state over an extended period of time
Things which are not covered in 'Eight70 Warranty'
- Damages caused due to customer negligence.
- Any modifications/alterations made to the battery will void the warranty.
- Situations such as theft, abuse, accident, flooding, fire etc. are not covered under the plan.
- Battery's natural wear and tear or any physical damage in parts & conditions is also excluded.
Ather sells the Rizta and 450 Series, which includes the 450S, 450X, and 450Apex. Additionally, the Rizta is available in three variants: S (2.9 kWh), Z (2.9 kWh), and Z (3.7 kWh). Lastly, this new warranty program is transferable upon selling the scooter, which will help maintain the resale value of the scooter.
