Ather 450S Electric Scooter - Rival To Ola S1 Air?

Ather 450S will be a new entry-level variant of the Ather lineup. Its introductory price has been announced at Rs 1.30 lakh. However, it'll be different than its elder sibling i.e. Ather 450X. As anticipated, it'll probably get a different design and fewer features. However, Ather doesn't intend to compromise on its comfort & convenience factor. As per Ather, it'll offer a more value-for-money EV option to the 125cc ICE scooter buyers.

Ather has announced that the 450S will get an IDC-certified range of 115 km. Also, its top speed will be 90 kmph; indicating that it'll get riding modes as well. In order to keep it minimal, Ather might not get the disc brakes like its direct rival Ola S1 Air & TVS iQube S. The lower range will be because of the new smaller 3kWh battery pack. Mind you, the current 450X comes with a bigger 3.7kWh battery pack.

The 450S will be our new entry-level variant for those looking to enter the electric segment but are seeking the quality and assurance that Ather scooters provide. Within the category, the 450S will break new grounds and will offer first-of-its-kind tech features in the performance scooter segment, raising the bar in terms of riding pleasure and safety while still delivering on performance. Ather Experience Centres across the country will start accepting bookings for the new 450S from July onwards. Ather claims that its 450X has been a very successful product for it. Hence, the introduction of a lower-cost version will help boost sales.
