1. Ather Rizta: Conventional, Big Styling
With the Ather Rizta, the brand has introduced its first-ever family scooter. It comes with a conventional styling which is a stark distinction from the sharp design philosophy of Ather's previous scooter. It comes with more practicality with a larger and wider seat and a generous floorboard area for carrying enough luggage. Ather also says that this is the biggest seat on any scooter in India.
2. Features: All The Bells And Whistles
In terms of features, Rizta is no usual scooter. It comes with a 7-inch TFT screen that brings Bluetooth connectivity suite features as we have seen in the past Ather scooters. You also get the Magic Twist feature where you reverse-twist the throttle to bring the scooter to a halt without engaging the brakes. It also comes with a Reverse and Auto Hold mode. While it comes with under-seat storage as well as a frunk, the former can be detached and turned into a bag to carry along. What more can you ask for?
3. Battery And Range
It comes with 2 battery options, a smaller 2.3 kWh and a bigger 3.7 kWh battery pack options. The 2.3 kWh version claims an IDC claimed range of 123 km on a single charge (real-world range of around 103 km). The bigger 3.7 kWh battery pack claims an IDC-certified range of 160 km on a single charge. Both options come with a top speed of 80 kmph.
4. Safety Features: Skid Control And Fall Safe Tech
Taking the safety up a notch, the Ather Rizta scooter comes with a Skid Control system for a safer ride. It measures the wheel spin while on the road and detects when the rear wheel is spinning more than the front tire. In that case, it intervenes to slow down the rear wheel to prevent the skidding of tires and avert any mishaps. If you ever have to apply sudden braking, the ESS system kicks in and the rear lights start blinking rapidly to alert the oncoming traffic. Wait, there's more!! It also comes with Fall Safe tech that automatically cuts off the power as soon as it senses a fall to restrict any further movement of the vehicle.

5. Price And Rivals
The Ather Rizta is available in 2 variants. The entry-level S variant comes with a single 2.9 kWh battery pack at an introductory price of Rs. 1.10 lakhs. The Z variants come with 2 battery pack options- a 2.9 kWh and a bigger 3.7 kWh option. The former is priced at Rs. 1.25 lakhs whereas the latter is priced at Rs. 1.45 lakhs. It rubs shoulders with the likes of TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 Air, and others.
Verdict
The Ather Rizta scooter with al its bells and whistles seems like a priomising product that the rivals should be aware of. While it ticks all the right boxes, the family centric add-ons is one of the main selling point for any product in the country. A place where buying decisions are less personal and more familial, this one already smells like success for the brand.
