German luxury carmaker Audi premiered its Q6 e-tron in March this year. Now after a few months, the brand has announced a new variant of the electric SUV with better efficiency. Audi has announced an RWD Q6 e-tron Performance variant with a 100 kWh battery pack and a WLTP range of 641 km on a single charge. Read the details of the new Audi Q6 e-tron RWD variant below. Audi Q6 e-tron Performance Variant
The new Performance variant comes with a 100 kWh (94.9 kWh net) battery pack which gives a claimed range of up to 641 km. The RWD variant also gets a compact yet powerful permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMS) producing 240 kW of peak power. The EV is capable of sprinting 0-100 km/h in 6.6 seconds. Moreover, the Performance variant can charge up tp 260 km of range in 10 minutes.
The Q6 e-tron utilizes the same Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform as some Volkswagen EVs. The platform uses an 800-volt electrical system divided into two individual motors for better handling and weight distribution. The 5-seater EV measures 4,771 mm in length, 1,939 mm in width, and a height of 1,648 mm. The wheelbase of the SUV measured 2,899 mm allowing sufficient legroom for rear row passengers.
On the features front, the SUV is filled with a plethora of features which include an 11.9-inch Audi digital cockpit, a 14.5-inch curved display for the touchscreen, 20 speakers Bang & Olufsen speaker system, an AR HUD, and a 10.9-inch infotainment screen for the passenger among other features.
The new Performance variant will be available alongside the Q6 e-tron Quattro and SQ6 e-tron variants. The deliveries of the EV are scheduled to start in August this year.
Verdict
With the introduction of the new Performance variant for the Q6 e-tron the premium carmaker will be able to get more customers. The Performance variant will be more affordable as compared to the Quattro and SQ6 variant. The claimed range of the Performance variant is good and it will attract the buyers who don't want much performance and the all-wheel drive version.
