Audi India recently launched the e-Tron GT in India at a starting price of Rs 1.80 crore (ex-showroom, India). Audi will offer two variants with its third electric car - e-Tron GT and e-Tron GT RS. With the evolution of time and technology, the new trend is shifting towards electric mobility vehicles. Audi earlier this year launched an electric five-seater SUV, e-Tron and has now added two more members to the electric family.
The Classic Gran Turismo, e-Tron carries a flat, wide and long wheelbase. The technology used to build this car was developed in close collaboration with Porsche. The design language and the character of the car truly highlight Audis DNA.
The standard variant of the Audi e-Tron GT has a range of up to 500kms whereas the RS variant has a range of 481kms on a single charge. The standard one is priced at Rs 1.80 crore and the RS one is priced at Rs 2.05 crore (ex-showroom, pan India).
Audi e-Tron GT quattro is powered by dual electric motors, a 238 hp electric motor at the front axle and 435 hp motor at the rear producing 475 hp of power and 630 Nm peak torque. If switched to boost mode the car will produce 530 hp of maximum power with a top speed of 245 kmph. Audi quotes 0-100 kmph sprint in just 4.1 seconds.
On the other hand, Audi RS e-tron GT comes equipped with the same electric motors at both ends with a change in power and torque figures. The RS variant produces 598 hp of power and 830 Nm of torque whereas in boost mode the power output rises to 646 hp. The top-speed of the car is 250 kmph and the company claims 0-100kph in just 3.3 seconds.
Audi offers a 93kWh battery unit which claims a range of up to 500kms for the standard e-tron GT and 481km for the RS e-tron GT as per the WLTP cycle.

The Audi electric sportsback features a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with all smartphones, connected car tech, digital instrument cluster, shift-by-wire gears, a 16-speaker Bang and Olufsen 3D sound system, ambient lighting, 3-zone climate control, adaptive air suspension, an active rear spoiler, carbon-ceramic brakes, Matrix LED headlights and 20-inch alloys.
Audi e-Tron GT will compete against Mercedes-Benz EQC and Jaguar I-Pace. It will also compete with the Porsche Taycan that is expected to be launched in the first quarter of 2022.
