Bajaj Auto recently unveiled the new generation of Pulsar F250 and N250. And now the company might launch more powerful versions of the same, with a bigger engine.
The Pulsar has been one of the most iconic motorcycles in Bajaj Autos stable. Not only does it lead the sales charts, but it has also helped establish the Indian marquee as a renowned brand for performance. Both the recently unveiled Pulsar F250 and N250 bikes amped up the stature, for sure, with a completely new engine, and chassis, totally built from scratch. Both the bikes were launched with the aim to give enthusiasts and Pulsar-maniacs, a taste of more power and confidence to go the long distance. And if recent spy shots are to go by, then Bajaj has further plans with the Pulsar badge, in the form of the F400 and N400. So should you be waiting for the Bajaj Pulsar 400 twins?

On this note, it should be addressed, that in the past there has been news about a Pulsar 400, but back then, it turned out to be the Dominar. This time, the Bajaj Pulsar 400 spied models are entirely different. Both the F400 and N400, look quite similar to their smaller cousins the F250 and N250, thereby using the same steel-tubular frame chassis. Disc brakes on both tires, probably with dual-channel ABS. The seat height seems to have remained the same, and given the upgrade with a bigger engine, weight should increase, as well.
These spy shots surfaced amidst several rumors that Bajaj is planning to expand its portfolio using the Dominar 400s engine. The 373 cc in the Dominar 400 is tuned to produce 40 Ps and 35 Nm of torque, with longer gear ratios, and a flat and linear torque curve for better mid-range power.
The same unit in the Duke 390 produces 43 Ps and 25 Nm of torque, with shorter gear ratios and a rising torque curve, so you need to wring all the way up to the redline to access the full power. Which engine tune, does Bajaj goes with the F400 and N400, remains to be seen.
However, despite the promotion both the F400 and N400 will be positioned below Bajajs only premium offering, the Dominar400. As far as prices are concerned, the Pulsar F400 and N400 will compete in a segment where the models cost between Rs. 1. 75 lakh Rs. 3,00 lakh.
Some of the motorcycles of its kind include the KTM Duke 390, TNT 300 against the naked N400; and RC390, R3, or the RR310 against the faired- F400. Given that both are Pulsars, which have historically featured a cheaper price tag, the new motorcycles should also be reasonably priced.
