The i4 sedan, BMW India's second electric vehicle, is slated to make its debut in the country on 28 April. The BMW i4 is the German luxury carmaker's first completely electric sedan, which debuted in June 2021. While introducing the BMW iX, the company stated that the i4 will follow in the next six months, and based on the schedule, the BMW i4 is anticipated to appear in May or June. The i4 sedan is available in two versions in the global market: i4 eDrive40 and i4 M50. The i4 eDrive 40 is projected to be the first to arrive in India.

The i4 has the same profile as the four-door 4-series Gran Coupe, and they share design elements including the huge signature BMW kidney grille, which has been replaced with panels. The back of the car also features the same design as the ICE variant of the 4-series, the main difference is on the sides with an optional EV centric alloys that is optimised for smoother aerodynamics and lower drag. There are blue accents all around to give it the EV look.
BMW i4 Powertrain
The electric motor in the i4 produces 330 bhp and 430 Nm of peak torque, thanks to an 83.9 kWh battery pack. BMW claims the i4 can travel 453 to 484 kilometres on a single charge. On the other hand the i4 M50 variant boasts the same battery pack but uses the dual-motor and all-wheel-drive setup that offers 546 bhp and 795Nm of peak torque. The M50 comes with a range of 365 to 434 kilometres.
BMW's electric vehicle boasts a quick charge capacity of up to 200kW, allowing the battery to be recharged from empty to 80% in under 30 minutes. In the meantime, a full charge with the BMW home wallbox 11kW charger will take just over 8 hours and 45 minutes.
BMW i4 Interior
The interior of the electric sedan boasts a Live Cockpit Plus features a BMW Curved Display with a configurable 12.3-inch instrument cluster and 14.9-inch central information display. The multi-input iDrive 8 system is operated by voice, touchscreen, and iDrive touchpad Controller. It comes with multi-zone climate control, driver aid systems, and ADAS technology as a premium BMW offering. Blue accents can also be found throughout the cabin.
In terms of pricing, the BMW i4 electric sedan is estimated to start at around Rs 75-80 lakh (ex-showroom).
