BMW Motorrad India has teased a new range of luxury touring motorcycles. The luxury tourers BMW K 1600 GT and K 1600 GTL are among the upcoming models, as teased by BMW Motorrad India's official Twitter account. There are four BMW K 1600 variants available worldwide, while only a few of them will come in India. The K 1600 series has a lot of features and a powerful engine. At present, the BMW has a range of adventure and roadster bikes in India such as the BMW R 1250 GS Adventure, R 18, S 1000 RR, etc. Let's take a deeper look at the features of these two motorcycles.
BMW K 1600 GT and GTL Engine
A 1649 cc in-line 6-cylinder engine powers both BMW twins, producing 160 horsepower at 6,750 rpm and 180 Nm of peak torque at 5,250 rpm. The engine has been fine-tuned with improved engine control, and two knock sensors on the back of the cylinder bank keep the engine running smoothly even when using lower-octane fuel. The functioning of the combustion chambers is monitored by two new lambda sensors, as well as the six exhaust manifold sensors.

BMW K 1600 Series Features
The features in the K 1600 series include electronic traction control, a six-axis inertial measurement unit (IMU) to ensure proper operation. In comparison to the Rain and Road modes, the system enables a tiny degree of rear wheel spin in Dynamic ride mode. The bikes also feature BMW's latest semi-active suspension system, which has two settings: Dynamic and Road.
The bikes come equipped with cornering adaptive LED lighting and a 10.25-inch TFT instrument console with a split screen and navigation, as well as connectivity options for both helmet and smartphone. The motorcycles also come equipped with an audio system (GTL), electronic suspension with fully automatic load compensation, USB-C charging option, and emergency call, among other features. The prices of the bikes are expected to be around Rs 28 lakhs to Rs 30 lakhs. The bookings are officially open and one can contact their nearest authorised BMW Motorrad dealership.
