BMW F 450 GS: After making its presence in the 300cc segment with products such as G 310 R, and G 310 GS ADV-Tourer in collaboration with TVS Motor, BMW Motorrad is now gearing up to foray into the 450cc category in our market. The brand has recently revealed the F 450 GS Concept and this will allow the manufacturer to expand its footprints to various categories in India. BMW 450 GS Concept Details
Coming up with a new 450cc platform reflects the brand's intention to make its space in the highly competitive 450cc category. The manufacturer has teased a GS Concept on the new 450cc platform. As of now, this platform is in concept form, but there are high expectations that it will make it to the production stage as well.
BMW F 450 GS Design and Hardware
In terms of design, the F 450 GS gets the same design language as other bikes in the GS range. The F 250 GS derives some of its design elements from big GS motorcycles. These include a quad-element LED DRL signature and a headlight. Also, there is a beak that is integrated into the fairing and a tall windscreen that prevents excessive wind buffeting. As for the hardware, the F 450 GS gets USD telescopic forks, and a mono-shock setup at the rear, 19-inch wheels (front) and 17-inch wheels (rear). Also, there is a radiator positioned in the front for liquid cooling.
Features
On the feature front, the F 450 GS is expected to get a fully digital instrument cluster. Other features that will be on offer include LED tail lights and turn indicators. single-piece rally seat and a rear luggage rack.
Engine and Power
Powering the F 450 GS is a 450cc twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that churns out 48 bhp. The power-to-weight ratio of the motorcycle is nice as it weighs 175 kg (concept model). We can expect the production model to be heavier by 10-15 kg. Once launched, the F 450 will compete against the Aprilia Tuareg 457.
