First Batch of Ola S1 Scooters Delivered Without Promised Features

Ola Electric has finally commenced deliveries of their debut scooters, the S1 and S1 Pro. However, the first batch is still missing some features.

After two postponed dates, Ola Electric has finally commenced the delivery of the S1 and S1 Pro. To commemorate this occasion, the firm had organized a special event at their Bengaluru office. There were a total of 100 units that were delivered from the showrooms, however, the delivered scooters were not fully-equipped. For, at least 40 customers had confirmed that.

The first batch does not come with a mobile app, hill-hold, cruise control, or voice commands. Even Bluetooth is not available, a feature that also enables you to unlock the scooter. For now, customers will have to make do by punching a code on the 7 touchscreen. Other standout features available are, side pocket speakers, USB port, built-in navigation, single-mono-shock at the front, flush indicators integrated into the body panel, and a unique dual LED headlight. The non-availability of these features was previously notified to customers via email, as has been clarified by Mr Varun Dubey, chief of marketing officer of Ola Electric. So, this news shouldnt come off as a surprise.

The company has been under pressure from customers with the scooters delivery dates. The semiconductor chip crisis has been a deterrent factor behind the delays. However, the purchase window for booking the second batch of Ola Scooters stands delayed. The exact date remains unconfirmed as of yet, however, customers can pay a token amount of Rs. 499 and book the scooters.
