Honda Cars India Issues Recall For Around 92,000 Cars For Faulty Part Replacement
Honda Cars India has issued a broader recall affecting over 90,000 vehicles across various models. The recall targets a potential issue with the fuel pump's impeller, which could lead to engine stalling or difficulty starting. To address this, Honda will replace the faulty component at no cost to affected owners. Interestingly, the recall also includes older models that had previously undergone a similar repair using spare parts. The affected models include those manufactured between September 2017 to June 2018 and the replacement will start in a phased manner from November 5, 2024.
The models affected by this issue include both old and newer models comprising even the discontinued models as well like the Honda City, Amaze, Jazz, WR-V, BR-V, Brio, and Accord. As for the intimation to the respective owner, Honda says that they will be contacted personally to schedule the service center visit. If you wish to check the status of your car, you can check that by entering your unique VIN number on the Honda's official website. Moreover, Honda cars that got the fuel pump assembly replaced between September 2017 to October 2023 from the service centers can also get it checked for any issues.
Verdict
The recall initiated by Honda is a welcome move as there are certain things that arise after the cars roll off the showrooms, and the brand has actively taken note and replacing the affected parts. While this is something that happens from time to time, and Honda will contact those with the affected units, you can also check in with your dealership or through the official website, to see if your car makes the cut in this list.
