Honda CB350 Records 30 km/l Mileage For 150 Km - Is It Economical?

In our recent mileage test, we have ditched the four-wheelers and have explored the recent Honda CB350. Yes, the absolutely stunning highway cruiser which is getting popular with each passing day. We picked the DLX Pro version of the Honda CB350 and checked its mileage for our regular 150 km highway run.

Before we go any further and share with you how we did this mileage run of Honda CB350, make sure you are a member of our exclusive 91Wheels Telegram Group where we share the latest information of the Indian Automotive Industry.

Sharing details on the engine of the Honda CB350 then it gets 348.36cc, single-cylinder, BS6 compliant petrol engine. This one generates 20.78 bhp at 5500 RPM with a peak torque of 30 Nm at 3000 RPM. It gets mated to a 5-speed manual unit with one down and four upshifts. One of the best things we love about the CB350 is the thump which comes as stock. The exhaust note is quite sweet on this one.

Continuing on our fuel economy run, our first step was to find the nearest petrol station. We went there and filled the tank to the brim. Please note, this tank is huge and the official capacity if of 15 litres. Also, it's necessary that you check the tyre pressure according to what the company suggests as to churn out more mileage. Thankfully, we did it when we started the trip.

Once the fuel is filled, we reset both the tripmeters A and B along with the instantaneous fuel economy, range and average fuel economy. After that, we put our gloves on and took the WPE (Western Peripheral Expressway) or the KMP (Kundli Manesar Palwal) highway.

One good thing about doing mileage test on two-wheelers is that we don't have to worry about the toll taxes on the way. So less stopping time and hence better fuel economy. We set ou speed at 90-95 km/h since most people cruise at a similar speed with the bike of this size.

At 26 km mark, we achieved an excellent 34.3 kmpl from the Honda CB350. Considering the size and weight of this vehicle, we faired it good in our list. The average remained similar at 49 km mark too when we stopped the bike to take a quick water break.

Upon reaching the 90 km mark and cruising at 90 km/h, we experienced a slight drop in the fuel economy and noticed the bike delivered 33.4 kmpl. After that, we pushed the throttle response between 95 kmph to 100 kmph but still, it showed an efficient figure of 33.9 kmpl at 130 km mark.

We stopped the bike again at 130 km mark as to refresh ourselves with fresh juice and water. Testing mileage on bikes is relatively harder than four-wheelers. Resuming our test, we reached 149 km mark and went to the nearest petrol pump. There as you can see the figures from the instrument cluster displaying 33.8 kmpl.

However, we believe in the old school method and asked the attendant to fill the fuel in our Honda CB 350. A total of 4.94 litres was filled in our total 149.6 km test run. So when we divide the total kilometres by the fuel filled, it comes to 30.283 which is excellent for a 350cc motorcycle.

Do note that this bike has not even seen its first service mark and it still delivers 30 kmpl. Now, that is impressive. So how do you like our fuel economy run of the Honda CB350?
