Honda City Fourth-Gen Discontinuation Details
The fourth-gen City was launched back in 2014. It has been one of the best-selling products of Honda ever since. All thanks to its reliable engine and comfortable cabin; it has been a success overall. However, the road for this car is now going to end soon in India. The new RDE norms are going to be applicable in the coming April. Hence, Honda is not planning to keep it running anymore. This makes sense as the car is currently on sale alongside the current Honda City Fifth-gen.
Speaking of the fourth-gen model, it is still on sale with a price tag of Rs 9.5-10 lakh ex-showroom. The current model does not come with an automatic gearbox option as that has been shifted only to the fifth-gen. However, the City has been an utter favorite among luxury cab owners as well as private buyers. The 1.5-lt i-Vtec petrol engine is fuel efficient as well as butter smooth to drive. With its phase-out, the fifth-gen City will be left alone to carry forward the iconic sedan brand name in India.
Verdict
Honda recently launched its updated fifth-gen City in India. However, if you still wish to buy the fourth-gen City; the last chance is here.
