Honda Cars India has implemented a price update for its mid-size sedan, the Honda City. This latest adjustment, with an increase of up to Rs. 7,900, results in the City now commencing at a starting price of Rs. 11.63 lakh (ex-showroom) in the Indian market. Customers have the choice of selecting from four different variants and can opt for their preferred model from among six distinct color options.
Honda City Price Hiked From September 2023
The Honda City is offered in four distinct trims: SV, V, VX, and ZX. In terms of pricing, there is now a standardized increase for all variants, regardless of whether they come in solid or metallic color options. The price hike for solid color variants is set at Rs. 5,900, while metallic color variants see a slightly higher increase of Rs. 7,900. This pricing structure simplifies the choices for potential buyers across the City's range of trims and color options. The updated pricing is as follows

After this price revision, the Honda City price now starts at Rs.11.63 lakhs and goes up to Rs. 16.02 lakhs.
Powertrain
The Honda City's 1.5-liter non-hybrid petrol mill churns out 121 hp power and comes mated to a 6-speed manual or CVT gearbox. It claims a fuel efficiency figure of 17.8kpl and for the petrol-auto, it is 18.4kpl.
Meanwhile, the hybrid 1.5-liter unit is good for 126 hp and comes mated to an eCVT transmission. Where it steals the show is its mileage numbers. It claims a mileage of 27.13 kmpl, which is an excellent figure, considering the size and power it carries.
It continues to rival the other C- C-segment sedans in the segment like the Maruti Ciaz, Skoda Slavia, Hyundai Verna, and the Volkswagen Virtus.

The price hikes are a regular practise in the auto industry for adjustice the retail tags in accordance with rising inflation and increased costs.
