Considered as one of the most futuristic cars of its time, the Honda Civic made its debut in the Indian market in 2006 and then later received a facelift in the year 2009. In this sequel of Walking Down The Memory Lane, we bring you Honda Civic Brochure for you. Before we start, I would like to thank Sid for sharing these images with us.
The first-gen Civic to be sold in India came with a subtle and elegant design language, which looks great even today. The large headlamps, long hood, and the chrome strip grille at the front gave it a very sporty and appealing front fascia. The side profile too looked great and the overall design looked proportionate, which made it one of the best-looking sedans in the segment. The rear however was not so simple and featured jet after-burn tail lights which did attract a lot of attention.

Step inside the cabin and you would notice a premium and a luxurious cabin with ample amount of space both at the front and at the rear. The seats were low slung and provided great support and spot-on cushioning which made it an ideal car for long-distance traveling. Apart from that, there were a number of features inside the cabin to pamper the occupants. However, the low seating made ingress and egress a little difficult for the older people in the family.
The Honda Civic was powered by a 1.8-L i-VTEC engine that churned out 132 PS of maximum power while the peak torque output stands at 171 Nm. This engine came mated to a 5-Speed gearbox and an automatic gearbox. Do you know that this car was also offered with a 1.3-L engine mated to an electric motor for the initial few months from its launch? Apart from that, the overall suspension setup made it a great car to drive.
