Mercedes Benz India Recall

As per the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), there's a software issue that affects the fuel injection system of these Mercedes cars. When the car is in eco-mode or sailing-mode, it works properly and does its job well, but as soon as you turn it off and switch to other driving modes, there is a high chance that the glitch can make the fuel injection stop working. The effect of this glitch can also turn off the car without any warning, which can lead to several other issues. So, this is the main story behind this recall.

Now, 2,543 units of the E-Class and 3 units of the C-Class, manufactured between August 2021 and October 2021, along with other Mercedes models in this list, including the GLC, G-Class, S-Class, AMG GT, and AMG E-63, have been recalled for the same issue. In total, according to SIAM, 7 models are recalled, which is a lot. Currently, there is no information about the total units of the 5 cars mentioned above.
- GLC SUV - Since October 7, 2022
- C-Class - August 31, 2021 to October 31, 2021
- S-Class - July 20, 2022, to September 29, 2023
- AMT GT - July 20, 2022 to September 29, 2023
- G-Class - August 17, 2022 to December 20, 2022

Verdict
Last year, several media sites and automotive portals published a report on the most reliable car brands in the world, based on surveys, customer interactions, and considering several other factors. Out of the top 20 car brands, Mercedes was not listed until the 30th position, while BMW and Audi were included in the top 10 list, with BMW emerging as highly reliable. Even this recall is a testament to the fact that the current models of all Mercedes cars have had several issues, and they are far behind in terms of reliability. Despite being the number 1 brand, they should fix these issues quickly to maintain their reputation.
