Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA Class

Last Updated On 27th Jan'25: Mercedes-Benz India showcased the all-new, upcoming entry-level CLA Class at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Scheduled for launch in 2026, the new Concept CLA will pave the way for a sedan, SUV and an EV. Details are sketchy for now, but this new CLA will give Mercedes-Benz a powerful contender in the entry-level price band and will help widen the three-pointed star’s reach among Indians.

Design: Currently at a concept stage, the Mercedes-Benz Concept CLA showcases a futuristic yet elegant design, focusing on aerodynamics and sporty sophistication. It has a length of 4,750 mm, a width of 1,870 mm, and a height of 1,440 mm. From the side, you can’t miss the sleek, coupe-like silhouette that enhances its dynamic stance. At the front, the narrow, LED headlights and bold, upright grille create a striking front fascia, while the sculpted sides and smooth roofline contribute to its fluid motion. At the rear of the CLA concept, muscular fenders and a subtle spoiler lend a sporty theme. Also, you can’t miss the distinctive 21-inch wheels that come adorned with a captivating star pattern.

Battery & Motor: Although there is no official word on the battery size for now, the brand claims the Concept CLA will offer an electric range of as much as 750 km. The Concept CLA’s battery will have usable energy content of 85 kWh with a 93% drivertrain efficiency. Thanks to a 800V architecture, the Concept CLA will support super fast charging speeds of upto 320 KW. This helps a top up of 400km in just 15 minutes. Power will go to the rear wheels via a 2-speed transmission. Official power and torque figures are awaited as of now.

Price & Launch time: The Mercedes Benz Concept CLA was first showcased at IAA mobility 2023 and now debuted in India in Jan 2025. It's safe to assume the car will not go into production before the end of 2026 and will eventually see an Indian launch at the 2027 Auto Expo. The CLA electric will be positioned in the Rs 60-70 lakh bracket and, when launched, will be the most futuristic and technologically loaded green Mercedes.
