The A-class exterior design is class-apart. The short limousine has been designed in a strikingly sharp layout that is instantly eye-catching over the road. Mercedes-Benz A-class comes with the option between 3 different engines i.e., petrol & diesel. The base petrol variant uses a 1.3-Lt, turbo-petrol which makes 120 hp & 250 Nm of torque. This engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT gearbox. The ARAI-claimed fuel economy of this engine is 17.5 kmpl. The second engine option which is also the best-selling variant of the A-class is the 2.0-lt, turbo-diesel engine which makes 110 hp & 320 Nm of peak torque. This engine is mated to an 8G-DCT gearbox and it delivers an ARAI-claimed fuel economy of 21.35 Kmpl. 

The third option is an AMG variant which comes with a 2.0-lt, twin-turbo petrol engine. This makes a peak power of 225 hp & 400 Nm of peak torque. Performance-wise the engine lineup of A-class is fantastic and the car feels effortless to drive. The engines have been tuned for maximum efficiency and performance altogether. 

The ride and handling combination of A-class is its USP. Mercedes-Benz engineers have tuned the A-class for customers who want an extremely comfortable sedan. The suspension is tuned brilliantly to tackle the undulations of the road. The good suspension means the low-speed ride quality is brilliant. Also, as soon as the speed builds up, the car feels more planted than any of its rivals. The handling of the car has also been tuned accordingly to accommodate the suspension feel. The steering feedback is light at the low speeds while at the higher speeds the steering weighs up nicely. The high-speed behavior of the A-class is commendable & it feels very confident over the highway. Fast corners can easily be taken with the A-class perfect blend of chassis and handling.
