Mercedes-Benz CLA Concept: Details
The CLA Concept is a four-door sedan with rather flamboyant styling, featuring a grille panel with a tri-arrow star-studded pattern running all over. The car is low-slung and this is something that will obviously change in the production-spec car.
Staying true to modern design trends, the CLA Concept gets a full-length LED strip connecting the semi-circular headlights, which themselves feature the Mercedes tri-arrow motif. The LED strip also connects all the way to the shoulder line of the car.

The profile of the car is rather smooth as well, and just like the front, the rear also gets a thin crease connecting the tail lights and running all the way to the door. The headlight and the tail light are both semi-circular in shape and feature the Merc tri-star logo in them. Needless to say, while the car will feature a stylish coupe-sedan silhouette, a lot of elements from the concept car will get toned down.
The platform that this car is built on is a rather important one. The MMA platform is an electric-first architecture, but it can also support combustion powertrains, which raises the likelihood of hybrid powertrains being developed. The car maker is going to build four models on this platform, which includes two SUVs a shooting brake, and a four-door sedan.
The CLA Concept is built on an 800-volt electric architecture, which will support 300kW+ DC fast charging. The car maker says this should help give 400km of charge in just 15 minutes. On a full charge, Mercedes-Benz is aiming for 750km of range, with an efficiency figure of 12kWh/100km.
The interiors of the CLA Concept are also just as outrageous, but the production-spec car will obviously see the removal of certain elements. It gets a full-length MBUX Hyperscreen setup across the dashboard, which looks similar to what we have seen on some other premium German cars. The Hyperscreen will run on the new MB.OS software, which will also receive AI assistance, and it will also be able to monitor the presence of children on the rear seat, as well as their breathing pattern.
Verdict
The CLA Concept could potentially replace the A-Class Limousine in the future. However, more information shall be known closer to the reveal of the production-spec car.
