Jeep, Citroen Price Hike Quantum
Both Jeep and Citroen will increase the price of their products/cars by 2 percent. None of the brands have detailed the model-wise price hike for the models. However, the automakers have mentioned that the price hike will vary from model to model and variant to variant. The announced price increment will apply to the current ex-showroom price tags of the models.
Basalt and Compass to Cost More
The two per cent price increase means that the Basalt SUV, currently priced at Rs. 7.99 lakh (ex-showroom) will cost more than 8 lakh (ex-showroom) once the price hike is implemented. On the other hand, Jeep's most affordable product, the Compass SUV's base model will get a price hike of more than Rs. 35,000.
Reason for Price Hike
Like other carmakers in India, the Stallentis Group automakers have also stated the increased input cost for the announced price hike. The companies have also mentioned that this step would help them to come up with new products and increase the viability of their business.

Verdict
The price hikes by Jeep and Citroen reflect the ongoing trend among automakers, driven by rising input costs. While a 2% hike seems marginal, it impacts affordability, especially for budget-conscious buyers. Brands must balance such increases with value-added features or updates to justify costs and maintain competitiveness in a price-sensitive market like India.
