Jeep India is running its operations in the Indian market with just the Compass. Jeep also launched the Trailhawk variant of the Compass for hardcore Jeep fans and we also saw the launch of low-volume Wrangler. Now Jeep is working on the Compass facelift and a new 7-seater Compass. The Jeep Compass 7-seater has been spied on test on Indian roads again.
Talking about the Compass 7-seater, Jeep is expected to christen it "Grand Compass" and it will rival cars like the Toyota Fortuner, Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace and Skoda Kodiaq. It will be underpinned by the same structure but sport bigger proportions. In the images, bigger wheels and prominent cladding is visible along with a longer rear overhang. Inspecting closely also reveals some changes made to the taillights. As the test mule is covered in heavy camouflage, getting more details is not possible at the moment.

The front of the test mule is fully covered but we expect a tweaked 7-slat grille flanked with new LED headlights. Both the front and rear bumpers will also get a design overhaul and the alloy wheels may be different in the production model. Overall, the design and silhouette of the Grand Compass will be similar to the regular Compass. The interiors of the Grand Compass will get a tweaked layout, new Uconnect infotainment system and obviously, third row of seats.

Moving to the powertrain options, Jeep may launch the new 1.3-litre turbo petrol motor which was launched with the updated Compass globally. The turbo petrol will produce 130PS with the manual and 150PS with the DCT box. The diesel will be the same 2.0-litre motor producing 173PS and 350 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual and 9-speed auto. Jeep is expected to launch the Grand Compass next year whereas we expect the Compass facelift in early 2021.
